Abstract

Childcare (hadhanah) is one of the important aspects of Islamic family law, aimed at ensuring the optimal growth and development of children in physical, mental, spiritual, and social aspects. In the modern era, the increasing number of working parents has created various challenges in the implementation of hadhanah. This article aims to examine the concept of hadhanah in Islamic family law and analyze its implementation in families with working parents. The method employed is library research, involving an examination of various sources of Islamic law, statutory regulations, and relevant literature. The findings indicate that Islam does not prohibit parents from working, provided that their responsibilities for childcare and the fulfillment of children's rights continue to be properly carried out. From the perspective of Islamic family law, hadhanah is not limited to the physical care of children but also encompasses education, moral development, protection, and affection. Therefore, working parents remain fully responsible for childcare through a balanced division of roles, adequate supervision, and the comprehensive fulfillment of children's needs.
