Dear authors, reviewers, and readers,

To strengthen the quality, integrity, and governance of the journal, and to align with the latest national journal accreditation regulations, Ar-Riyadhiyyat: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika has updated several of its policies and its manuscript template. These changes will apply in full to all articles published from Vol. 7 No. 2 (2027) onward.

Summary of the main changes:

1. Focus and Scope. The journal focuses on three areas: ethnomathematics, mathematics education integrated with Islamic values, and technology in mathematics teaching and learning. It accepts original research articles and review articles; book reviews are no longer accepted.
2. English only. All manuscripts must be written in English, including the title, abstract, and keywords.
3. New manuscript template. All manuscripts must be prepared using the latest template, which can be downloaded here. Manuscripts that do not follow the template will be returned to the authors.
4. Mandatory Declarations section. Every manuscript must include a Declarations section before the References, containing:
   • Author Contributions;
   • Funding;
   • Conflict of Interest;
   • Ethical Approval and Informed Consent;
   • Use of Artificial Intelligence.
5. Reference requirements. Each manuscript must meet the following:
   • at least 20 references for original research articles and 35 for review articles;
   • at least 80% primary sources;
   • at least 80% published within the last 10 years;
   • APA 7th edition style, with DOIs included where available.
6. Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence. The journal has issued a new AI Policy:
   • Authors must disclose any use of AI tools.
   • AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
   • Reviewers are not permitted to use AI tools or to upload manuscripts to AI applications.
7. Publication Ethics. The Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement has been updated in line with COPE guidelines. It covers authorship, research involving human participants, plagiarism, corrections, and retractions.

Transition period:

• Manuscripts already submitted and currently under review will be processed as usual. However, authors may be asked to adjust their manuscripts to the new template and add the Declarations section before publication.
• We encourage all authors to use the new template and follow the updated guidelines for new submissions starting today.
