Vol. 5 No. 1 (2026): Al-Hiwalah : Journal Syariah Economic Law
We offer our praise and gratitude to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala for His grace and blessings, which have enabled the publication and presentation of Al-Hiwalah: Sharia Economic Law (Volume 5, Number 1, January - June 2026) to our readers.
This edition is truly special. All the articles presented here are the result of cross-border and inter-institutional scholarly collaboration, involving 47 authors from 18 academic institutions across six countries: Indonesia, Australia, Egypt, Malaysia, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. The participation of international partners such as the University of Western Australia, Al-Azhar University (Egypt), Sultan Zainal Abidin University (Malaysia), the Faculty of Law at Youngsan University (South Korea), and Umm Al-Qura University (Saudi Arabia alongside various Islamic and public universities in Indonesia (ranging from UIN Sumatera Utara, UIN Antasari Banjarmasin, UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, Lambung Mangkurat University, and Darussalam Gontor University to various STAIN and IAIN institutions across the country), underscores that the study of Sharia economic law is no longer merely a local discourse. Instead, it is a scholarly field that continues to grow through global academic dialogue and cooperation.
This diversity of institutional backgrounds is reflected in the variety of perspectives, methodologies, and socio-cultural contexts addressed by the authors ranging from studies on contemporary fiqh muamalah (Islamic commercial jurisprudence) and grassroots Sharia economic practices to Islamic legal issues intersecting with modern developments. This diversity constitutes the edition's primary strength: the articles do not stand in isolation but rather complement one another, enriching the body of knowledge regarding Sharia economic law from a multitude of viewpoints.
