Boosting Fifth Grade Students' Understanding of “Humans as Khalifah” Through the Jigsaw Learning Method at SD Negeri Suak Perbong

This study aims to improve students' understanding of Islamic Religious Education, particularly on the topic of “Humans as Khalifah”, in grade V of SD Negeri Suak Perbong through the implementation of the Jigsaw learning method. Islamic Religious Education plays an important role in character building and understanding Islamic teachings. As part of an education system that focuses on the application of akhlakul karimah (noble character), it is essential for students to understand the purpose of human creation so they can carry out their duties on earth properly. However, in reality, many students have not yet understood the purpose of human creation as khalifah on earth or applied it in their daily lives. This is due to several factors, including the selection of inappropriate teaching methods, which makes it difficult for students to grasp the content. By applying the Jigsaw learning method, it is hoped that students can actively engage in the learning process through solving real-life problems, supporting the development of critical thinking skills and increasing their self-confidence. This study was conducted in two cycles, with the students' learning outcomes in Cycle I showing a classical completeness of only 42.86%, with an average score of 67.14. However, after improvements were made in Cycle II, the classical completeness increased to 100%, and the average score rose to 80.71. This improvement in learning outcomes shows that the Jigsaw learning method is effective in enhancing students' understanding of the topic of Humans as Khalifah.
Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam, khususnya pada materi Manusia Sebagai Khalifah, di kelas V SD Negeri Suak Perbong melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran Jigsaw. Pendidikan Agama Islam memiliki peran penting dalam pembentukan karakter siswa dan pemahaman ajaran Islam. Sebagai bagian dari pendidikan yang berorientasi pada penerapan akhlakul karimah, sangat penting bagi peserta didik untuk memahami tujuan penciptaan manusia agar mereka dapat menjalan tugas-tugasnya di muka bumi dengan baik dan benar. Namun pada kenyataanya, banyak dari peserta didik yang belum memahami tujuan penciptaan manusia sebagai khalifah di bumi dan menerapkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hal ini disebabkan oleh banyak faktor, di antaranya adalah pemilihan metode pembelajaran yang kurang tepat sehingga mebuat peserta didik susah untuk memahami isi materi. Dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran Jigsaw, diharapkan siswa dapat terlibat aktif dalam proses pembelajaran melalui pemecahan masalah nyata, yang mendukung pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mereka. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, di mana hasil belajar siswa pada Siklus I menunjukkan ketuntasan klasikal hanya sebesar 42,86% dengan rata-rata nilai 67,14. Namun, setelah dilakukan perbaikan pada Siklus II, ketuntasan klasikal meningkat menjadi 100% dan rata-rata nilai naik menjadi 80,71.
