Applying the TPACK Learning Model to Enhance Students’ Conceptual Understanding of Islamic Education Material on Reaching Puberty

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education has an important role in shaping character and increasing students' religious knowledge. One of the important aspects of Islamic Religious Education is the mastery of basic concepts, including the material of Welcoming Adulthood. However, in class IV of SDN Blang Seunong, students' understanding of this material is still relatively low. This was reflected in the low number of students who were able to answer questions correctly, as well as the lack of student focus during learning, who tended to prefer playing or talking with friends. This study aims to describe student activities and increase concept understanding through the application of the TPACK learning model on the material of Welcoming Adulthood. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with four stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The results of the research in cycle I showed that the level of student activity reached 56.66%, with a percentage of learning completeness of 11.11% in the pre-test and increased to 55.55% in the post-test. In cycle II, student activity increased significantly to 93.33%, with learning completeness of 44.44% in the pre-test and 100% in the post-test. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the TPACK learning model is effective in improving students' understanding of concepts in PAI subjects, especially the material of Welcoming the Age of Adulthood in class IV SDN Blang Seunong.

 

Abstrak

Pendidikan Agama Islam memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter dan meningkatkan pengetahuan agama siswa. Salah satu aspek penting dalam Pendidikan Agama Islam adalah penguasaan konsep-konsep dasar, termasuk materi Menyambut Kedewasaan. Namun, di kelas IV SDN Blang Seunong, pemahaman siswa terhadap materi ini masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini tercermin dari rendahnya jumlah siswa yang mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan benar, serta kurangnya fokus siswa saat pembelajaran berlangsung, yang cenderung lebih memilih bermain atau berbicara dengan teman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas siswa dan peningkatan pemahaman konsep melalui penerapan model pembelajaran TPACK pada materi Menyongsong Masa Dewasa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian pada siklus I menunjukkan bahwa tingkat aktivitas siswa mencapai 56,66%, dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar 11,11% pada pre-test dan meningkat menjadi 55,55% pada post-test. Pada siklus II, aktivitas siswa meningkat secara signifikan menjadi 93,33%, dengan ketuntasan belajar 44,44% pada pre-test dan 100% pada post-test. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran TPACK efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada mata pelajaran pada materi Menyongsong Masa Akil Baligh di kelas IV SDN Blang Seunong.
