About the Journal
Liwaul Dakwah: Jurnal Kajian Dakwah dan Masyarakat Islam is an academic journal published by the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab, and Da’wah since 2013. This journal places Islamic preaching (da’wah) and Muslim society studies as its primary focus within the broader framework of academic inquiry, encouraging comprehensive examination through multidisciplinary approaches. It serves as a scholarly platform for exploring the development of Muslim communities in Indonesia and other parts of the world, within both national and global contexts. Liwaul Dakwah invites researchers to engage in the study of Islamic preaching and Muslim societies using interdisciplinary perspectives. The scope encompasses both textual (conceptual) analyses and empirical research, with a central emphasis on da’wah and Muslim society. The journal aspires to be an intellectual medium for scholars from Indonesia and across the globe to contribute to the enrichment of knowledge in this academic field. Liwaul Dakwah is committed to continuously improving the quality of its articles, in terms of structure, style, and academic rigor. While the primary language of publication is Indonesian, submissions in English are highly welcomed.
Liwaul Dakwah applies a fair, objective, and selective peer-review process in the publication of scholarly articles. The journal publishes research and studies that examine Islamic preaching and Muslim society in an integrative and interconnected manner, employing diverse dimensions and approaches including: Islamic Communication and Broadcasting, Islamic Guidance and Counseling, Tafsir and Qur’anic Studies, Islamic Literature and Culture, and community development rooted in classical Acehnese, Nusantara, and global Islamic civilizations. Liwaul Dakwah is published biannually, in June and December. The journal publishes original research articles and conceptual papers. It is available in both print and electronic formats. The print version has been in circulation since 2013, while the online version has been accessible since 2020 and is published open access, free of charge and without subscription.
