Jurnal Genderang Asa: Journal of Primary Education welcomes scholarly manuscripts relevant to Primary School (Sekolah Dasar) and Islamic Elementary School (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) Teacher Education, including competency analysis, learning strategies, learning theory, learning development, and educator professionalism.
The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:
1. Research Article
Articles presenting the results of original research using qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, or other scientifically sound research approaches. Articles must clearly state the research problem, objectives, methods, results, discussion, and conclusions, and demonstrate a contribution to the advancement of primary education.
2. Model Development and Educational Innovation Article
These articles describe the process and outcomes of developing products, models, media, teaching materials, or instructional innovations for primary education. Manuscripts must be based on a clearly defined development model (e.g., ADDIE, 4D, Borg & Gall, Plomp, or Design-Based Research) and must include tests of the product’s validity, practicality, and/or effectiveness. Relevant topics include innovative learning models and strategies, technology-based learning media, teaching materials and modules, assessment instruments, differentiated instruction, and local wisdom-based learning innovations.

  1. Case Study Article

A case study article is a scholarly manuscript that presents the findings of an in-depth examination of a case, phenomenon, program, policy, or primary education practice within a specific context. Case study articles provide an in-depth analysis of one or more specific cases in primary education, whether at the level of individuals (students or teachers), classrooms, schools, or communities. Articles must explore the phenomenon comprehensively and offer lessons learned that are of value to primary education practice.

Within the scope of Jurnal Genderang Asa: Journal of Primary Education, case study articles may address a wide range of issues, including students with special needs and inclusive education, learning difficulties, best practices in school-based learning, curriculum implementation in particular schools, primary school leadership and management, and education in 3T regions (frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped areas). Case study articles must make a clear scholarly contribution, whether in the form of new insights into the management of primary schools/madrasah ibtidaiyah, evaluation of curriculum implementation, identification of success factors and constraints, or recommendations for improving primary education governance. It is not sufficient for an article merely to describe an institutional profile or activity; it must present critical analysis and sound scholarly argumentation.

All manuscripts must meet the standards of originality, scholarly relevance, methodological or argumentative rigor, use of credible references, and the publication ethics requirements of Jurnal Genderang Asa. Every manuscript will undergo an initial screening by the editor and a peer-review process in accordance with journal policy. Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee publication, as the final decision rests with the editor based on the outcome of the evaluation and scholarly review.
