Post-Publication Discussion
Journal Genderang Asa: Journal of Primary Education welcomes readers, researchers, and authors to discuss its published articles. Such discussion aims to clarify findings, offer scholarly critique, develop interpretations, and identify issues requiring editorial follow-up.
- Scope of Discussion
Discussion may address: the soundness of the methods, analysis, and interpretation of results; the consistency of conclusions with the research evidence; relevant literature or perspectives; research limitations and implications of the findings; and errors or alleged breaches of publication ethics. Scholarly disagreement does not in itself indicate error or misconduct.
- How to Submit a Discussion
Readers may submit comments or a Letter to the Editor through the journal’s official contact channels or the available submission system. Submissions must include:
- The title and DOI or link of the article under discussion.
- The sender’s identity and contact details for editorial correspondence.
- A clear description of the issue or argument.
- Supporting references or evidence.
- A statement of any relevant conflicts of interest.
- Discussion Ethics
Comments must focus on the substance of the article, use professional language, and show respect for all parties involved. The journal does not accept personal attacks, discrimination, commercial promotion, disclosure of personal data without proper grounds, or unsubstantiated accusations.
Criticism will not be rejected merely because it conflicts with the views of the authors or editors.
- Editorial Review
The editor assesses the relevance, clarity, evidence, and compliance of comments with discussion ethics. The editor may request clarification, revisions, or review by independent experts.
Comments deemed suitable may be published as a letter to the editor or another form of scholarly correspondence and linked to the article under discussion. Submission of a comment does not guarantee publication.
- Authors’ Right of Reply
Authors of the article will be given the opportunity to respond to criticism or questions within the time frame set by the editor. Responses must address the substance of the issue and include evidence where necessary. The absence of a response from the authors does not automatically prevent the publication of a suitable comment or evidence-based editorial follow-up.
- Follow-Up
If the discussion reveals problems with an article, the editor will conduct an investigation in accordance with journal policy. Actions may include clarification, correction, an expression of concern, or retraction of the article, depending on the nature of the issue and the available evidence. Substantive changes will not be made silently. Editorial notices must explain the reasons for the action and be linked to the relevant article.
- Independence and Appeals
Editors with a conflict of interest will not participate in decisions on the related discussion. Commenters or authors may lodge an appeal through the journal’s official contact channels, stating their reasons and providing additional evidence. All discussions and reports are handled fairly, while safeguarding the confidentiality of sensitive information and the integrity of the scholarly record.
