Objectives and Scope
Objectives and Scope
Journal of English Language Teaching, Linguistics, and Literature (JETLEE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published twice a year, in February and August, by [publisher/institution]. It publishes original scholarship on English language teaching, linguistics, and literature, and welcomes work that connects these fields.
Objectives
JETLEE aims to provide a forum where researchers, teacher educators, and practitioners can share rigorous, original work that advances understanding of how English is taught, learned, used, and represented. The journal particularly values research that links theory with practice and shows how findings from one context can inform others. It also values interdisciplinary work that brings language education, linguistic analysis, and literary study into dialogue with each other.
Submissions should make a clear contribution to existing knowledge. Studies set in a particular classroom, institution, community, or country are welcome, provided they explain why their findings matter beyond that setting.
Scope
JETLEE publishes work in the following areas, including but not limited to:
- English Language Teaching: teaching approaches and methods, curriculum and materials development, classroom practice, language assessment, technology and AI in language learning, and teacher education and professional development in EFL, ESL, and EMI contexts.
- Linguistics: the structure and use of English, including phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis, as well as corpus-based and contrastive studies of English and other languages.
- Applied Linguistics: second language acquisition, bilingualism and multilingualism, language policy and planning, translation and interpreting, and other applications of linguistic knowledge to real-world problems.
- Language in Society: sociolinguistics, language and identity, language and gender, language attitudes, and the role of language in constructing and contesting social relations.
- World Englishes and Globalization: varieties of English, English as a lingua franca, language contact, and the effects of globalization on how English is used and taught.
- Local, Ethnic, and Indigenous Languages: documentation and description of local and indigenous languages, language maintenance and revitalization, and the relationship between these languages and English in education and society.
- Literature: critical analysis of literary and cultural texts in English, literary theory, stylistics, comparative and postcolonial literature, children’s and young adult literature, and the use of literature in language education.
Methodological papers that address research design, data collection, or analysis in any of these areas are also welcome.

JETLEE is intended for university lecturers, researchers, graduate students, English teachers at all levels, and teacher educators working in language education, linguistics, and literary studies.
