Peer Review Process
Stage 1: Scope and Novelty Check
Every manuscript submitted to Saree: Research in Gender Studies must match the journal’s focus and scope and follow the author guidelines. The journal prioritizes novel research on gender and child issues.
Stage 2: Language Requirements
Manuscripts must be written in English. Either British or American English is accepted, provided the usage is consistent and the grammar meets a good standard.
Stage 3: Similarity and AI Screening
Editors will screen each manuscript with Turnitin. The similarity score may not exceed 20%, and the AI-detection score may not exceed 15%.
Stage 4: Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass screening go to double-blind review by at least two reviewers. Neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identities.
Stage 5: Editorial Decision
The editorial board considers the reviewers’ feedback and decides whether to:
accept the manuscript for publication,
accept it subject to revision, or
reject it.
Stage 6: Revision and Resubmission
Authors of returned manuscripts must revise them according to the reviewers’ comments and resubmit. The revised manuscript is then reviewed again.
