Conflict of Interest
Pase: Journal of Contemporary Islamic Education is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and academic integrity throughout the publication process. A conflict of interest may arise when financial, professional, personal, institutional, or other relationships influence, or may reasonably be perceived to influence, the objectivity of research, peer review, or editorial decisions.
1. Disclosure by Authors
Authors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest related to their submitted manuscripts. These may include financial support, employment, consultancies, personal relationships, institutional affiliations, or other interests that could influence the research or its interpretation.
If no conflict of interest exists, authors should include the following statement in their manuscript:
“The author(s) declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this article.”
2. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality. Reviewers should decline an invitation to review a manuscript if a conflict cannot be adequately managed. They must not use confidential information obtained during the review process for personal or professional advantage.
3. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their editorial judgment and withdraw from handling manuscripts in which such conflicts exist. The manuscript will be assigned to an independent editor to ensure an impartial evaluation. Editorial decisions must be based on scholarly merit, relevance, originality, and compliance with the journal's publication ethics.
4. Handling Conflicts of Interest
The editorial team will assess disclosed or suspected conflicts of interest and take appropriate measures to protect the integrity of the publication process. Failure to disclose relevant conflicts may result in additional investigation, rejection of a manuscript, or post-publication action, including correction or retraction, where appropriate.
5. Transparency and Accountability
All authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to comply with this policy. Disclosures will be handled transparently and confidentially, as appropriate, to maintain trust in the journal and its published research.
This policy is informed by the following publication ethics guidelines:
